Deist Stamp by ArtForBrother Deist Stamp by ArtForBrother
EDIT: I've re-done and done some more research. I realized that over time, I've drifted away from the beliefs of the Deist. I will keep this stamp up for Deists but understand it was created with a great deal of misinformation. But if you wish to use feel free.

I'm am not from a Christian family. I don't disrespect any religion what so ever. And I've learnt about Jesus' sacrifice when I was little. Do I count as a Deist or something?

Anything's better than Christianity, but how do you account for HOW God acts, and how he came to be in the first place?

No one knows. He works on his own accord. I've felt him before, watching me. I don't think he's inherently good or evil.

I'm sorry, I did not quite understand how you phrased that last part ^^; Are you personally asking me that question?

If you believe that deism correctly describes the way the universe works, I imagine you've give these questions some thought. I've never heard anyone mention the means by which God acts, and that would be quite a puzzle, since he is usually assumed to be able to work on both subatomic and astronomical scales. There's also the question of how God came to be. An infinitely powerful being with the desire to create coming into existence is harder to account for than the universe coming into existence, so using God to explain the beginning of the universe without being able to explain God doesn't net any explanatory progress.

I was curious as to your take on the matter, since you posted a stamp about it.

Ah, I understand now. You see, let me explain, commonly Deists believe in a "creator" referred to as God. But if you read more into Deism you see that the beliefs are not limited to that. There are no official "tenets" of Deism. I personally do believe in some sort of spiritual existence but I do not believe in a "God" exactly. I created this stamp because I wanted to express Deism as using logic rather than blindly believing in a god.

You see, my parents are Christian, but I had never believed in the Bible and I always thought scientific theories such as the big bang and evolution made perfect sense, I was sorta Christian and sorta not, and I was unsure of what to consider myself, when I started dating my current boyfriend last year, who is Atheist, and told him about this, he introduced me to Deism. I felt it fit my beliefs and since then I considered myself a Deist.

Since then, as a human with the abilities of logic and reason, as Deism acknowledges, my beliefs and views on the world has developed and changed. Perhaps I am no longer truly Deist. Looking once again at the ideas of Deism, I am finding I disagree with many things. While my beliefs are very different now though, they still have a base in the thoughts of Deism, which makes me think I am still one, as there are not official "tenets" of it.
